Don't forget the sunscreen
Well... this is a bit different. Whether by plan or just strange luck, many of the gateways leading to or from this pocket dimension have been temporarily rerouted.
The summer heat of the usual Outrealm can't even begin to compare to this place. Luckily, there's plenty of water around along with shade from palm trees, some curious parousel contraptions set up on the beach, and some of the people visiting are-
...What ARE those small clothes they're parading around in, anyway?
1. Swim-small clothes. It may have been through opening up an enchanted brochure-tome, a pushy beach manager, your own curiosity, or maybe even a portal malfunction caused you to arrive ready for the beach. Regardless, word is that this is attire for the beach. Why not make the most of it and do some swimming or sunbathing?
2. Sand. Soon enough, a strange feature on the beach becomes clear. Many of the phones act as two-way speaking devices if you hold them up to your ear. This could mean all sorts of opportunities to communicate... or prank someone. In addition, there appears to be a sand castle building competition set up!
3. Sea. Some curious devices have been prepared as well; small rafts to paddle in, or larger boats for the more experienced sailors. There's even a few boards that can let you do something called 'surfing' for those bold enough to try. The water looks cool and inviting, too.
4. Beach life. It seems the local wildlife has taken an interest in you. It could be brightly colored birds attracted to your food or outfit, strange sea creatures curious about the newcomer in their waters (either out of interest or hunger) or a small beach critter; you have a new escort either way!
5. Sundown. What better way to relax and watch the sun go down, than with a bonfire on the beach? Some interesting food has been set out as well in the form of sweet crackers, chocolate, and a creamy fluffy candy. There's also the sunset to view, and late night swimming with glowing sea life for those brave enough to try.
6. Wildcard. Time to hit the beach, and create your own prompt!
L'Arachel | Sacred Stones | ota
[Oh gods, the horror.
Flesh. Bare flesh, and lots of it, as far as the eye can see.
L'Arachel's own mysteriously-acquired swim attire, while woefully immodest and inappropriate for a holy woman, is actually not the problem. No, it's everyone else's attire. Or near lack thereof. She has seen a man's naked shoulder before, courtesy of Ephraim... but there are men here with--heavens preserve her--naked chests! Entire chests!
And there's no escape. Every which way she turns her head in a hurried attempt to look away, her eyes meet with more skin. It's too much for such a pure and saintly soul. L'Arachel buries her bright-red face in her hands, and shrieks.]

[It was a bit off setting to say the least to walk through a door and onto a beach in nothing more than a red bikini, especially when wearing clothes heavy and meant for combat. The young woman looked herself over, before looking at the beach goers in front of her. Everything seemed fine at least, perhaps this was a chance to let go and relax a little.
Lucina went to what she found most interesting first, there were some tide pools that had caught her attention and she went to go carefully explore rather than join the crowd in the water.]

[I'm open like the sea]
1!
[Having spotted his cousin, Owain came running across the beach, clad in a pair of swim trunks covered in dragons. He'd been enjoying himself out here for a while already, as evidenced by how pink his skin was beginning to turn, and in his hand he held a slender two-pronged fishing spear.
Where did he get it? Who knows. Should he have been running with it? Probably not. Did he think he knew how to use it? Absolutely.
He came to a stop at Lucina's side, at the edge of one of the tide pools, and planted the spear in the sand so he could pose heroically with it.]
At last, my exalted cousin arrives to join her might to mine! The dark denizens of these murky depths are no match for our combined power!
[The pool was neither murky nor deep, but that was totally beside the point.]
Bless this is amazing
Greetings Owain, you seem like you're enjoying yourself.
[A smile appeared on her lips as he dramatically welcomed her, it was nice to see a familiar face at the beach. When he mentioned denizens, she glanced into the pool to see most of the fish had gone to hide from the boisterous man. Not that she minded, there were still plenty of other pools to visit around.]
I believe we only needed your own presence at this point. What were you fishing for?
[She was assuming he was fishing because of the spear, though she could have been very wrong.
<3
Fishing? HA! The great Owain Dark has no time for such leisurely pursuits! Behold, I have been vigilantly keeping evil at bay with this, my trusty Trident of Smiting!
[He raised the spear aloft dramatically.
Never mind that tridents have three prongs, not two.]...Of course, if you want to fish, we could do that too. [Lowering the spear, he offered it to her.] Here, wanna try?

I'll have to pass on fishing, I'd like to just observe them today. Would you like to come with me and look at the different pools?
[Though, this may seem boring to him. She tried to think of something that may make it more entertaining for how he worked. After a moment she finally though of something, though she seemed not too sure of the idea herself mostly because she didn't know how he'd feel about it.]
You could...protect me from any kind of evil that may come my way. I don't have falchion on me today.
[She then offered the spear back to him.]

[He struck a
ridiculousheroic battle pose. It wasn't quite up to par with his usual ones, because he clearly had no idea what he was doing with a spear, but the enthusiasm was definitely there.]So what are we looking for? Leviathans of forgotten lore? A nexus of the energies of all creation? --Ooh, how about pirate treasure?
The real treasure is their time spent together =)
We probably shouldn't look for leviathans, next thing you know we may find Grima and I don't think that would go to well with the beach goers here...
[ Thinking over the other two choices, Lucina brightened up at the thought of treasure. It was the more simple of the tasks he listed even if it did seem impossible.]
Pirate treasure sounds fun though? But won't we need a map to find where the X marks?
D'awww~
[Of course, not looking for leviathans didn't mean they wouldn't encounter them anyway. Non-Grima ones. Owain could still hope.]
But fear not, O ambitious cousin of mine! Owain needs no map! We just need to check all the really awesome treasure-hiding spots! You know, secluded grottoes and caves and stuff like that. And when the reanimated hordes of pirate undead rise to defend their doubloons, KAPOW! They'll be met with the unbridled might of my twitching trident hand!
[Were there even any grottoes or caves around? Probably not. But a tide pool was as good a start as any, and Owain stalked around the edge of it, spear held ready, peering closely into the water.]
...Looks like nothing more than fish here, though.
Sorry rl put me in a chokehold
Shall we check the next pool then to try our luck?
[Lucina carefully made her way over to the next one, it was a bit bigger and a lot deeper, more likely to hold promise of ~forbidden treasure~]
No worries!
[Owain followed Lucina to the next pool, peered down into it, and thoughtfully stirred the water with his spear, hmm-ing to himself. Yes, now this one had potential! Deep and dark--the perfect hiding place for ancient treasures! He'd totally hide something here if he was a pirate.
He nodded in satisfaction.] Verily, the voices of long-lost legendary artifacts cry out to me! My treasure hand twitches... yes, I sense the presence of booty ripe for the plundering!
[With that, he was splashing his way into the pool.] Fear not, O forgotten fortune! I shall free you from your watery tomb!
I almost woke up the house from laughing so hard last night.
See anything exciting?
I'm not sorry XD
Nothing yeeet... Ah, but wait! What have we here?
[He disappeared beneath the water to get a better look, and emerged a few moments later with a grin on his face, triumphantly holding aloft... a large clump of seaweed.]
BEHOLD! The tangled tresses of the merfolk, keepers of the ocean's secrets! This means we're on the right track! [The seaweed continued to drip onto his head.] Aw man, this is so exciting!
no subject
This truly is quite the adventure.
[At this rate Lucina was going to feel bad if he didn't find anything at all with their little adventure. She remembered the tables she saw when she first stepped onto the beach with food and drinks being dispensed and remembered certain decorations that were on the table. A small plan started to hatch as she stood up after a moment.]
I'm feeling parched, would you like me to grab you something as well?
no subject
[Owain blinked at Lucina in disbelief, but only for a brief moment before his brows furrowed in thought.]
...Hmm, but then again, fighting off the inevitable hordes of evil pirate ghosts will require optimum hydration. [Translation: yeah, he was a little thirsty. He stroked his chin in mock consideration before giving a decisive nod.] Very well! Just make sure you hurry back--you don't want to miss the moment of discovery!

Anything exciting while I was gone?
no subject
[Owain splashed his way out of the tide pool and set his spear down, dripping everywhere as he retrieved the small shell he'd set in the sand while Lucina had been away. It was pretty ordinary, as far as seashells went, but he held it out to her proudly.]
Accept this as a token of my gratitude, O retriever of the Elixir of Thirst-Quenching! And don't worry--I just know we're gonna find something awesome! [He gave her a confident grin.] My supreme treasure sensing technique doesn't lie! ...Probably not, anyway.
no subject
It's very pretty. Maybe I can find a way to make a necklace out of it?
[She looked at it, moving it around in her hand before looking up at the young man.]
Should we try the next pool for better luck or do you think the treasure is in here?
no subject
[He beamed. That was way cooler than just a plain necklace, right? And then his gift would protect her wherever she went!
Taking a sip of water, he surveyed the surrounding pools.]
Hmm... If it were in this one, I'm mostly positive I would've found it by now. So let's see where my twitching treasure hand takes us next! It's definitely close...
[He held out said hand, pointing at each nearby pool in turn.] That one? ...No. That one? ...Nope. How abooout... [His hand twitched.] AHA! That's the one! YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM ME, TREASURE!
no subject
It looks pretty deep, perhaps you are right about this one.
[She made sure he could not see before carefully dipping her hand into the water, dropping the beads she thrifted where it would catch attention before innocently looking back at him.]
no subject
Of course I am! The hand is never wrong!
[If only he felt as confident as he looked. After all the boasting he'd done, he had little choice but to find something good in this pool. Even a shiny rock or a cool shark tooth or... or something. His image as an awesome treasure hunter was on the line here! He jumped into the water, hoping against hope... and wait, what was that? There really was something here?!]
...Huh? No way, I think there's actually--er, I mean, EUREKA! The legendary pirate plunder of legend! Right where I totally knew it would be! [He submerged to grab the beads.]
